The 2026-2027 Delta GEMS application will open soon!
We are pleased to invite you to participate in our 2026-2027 Delta GEMS program.
GEMS is an acronym for Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully that provides a vehicle of change for young African American women between the ages of 14 and 18 to enhance their abilities and increase their self-worth, in order to achieve academic and Black girl excellence. The goals of Delta GEMS are to:
- Instill the need to excel academically
- Provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success
- Assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for the futures in high school and beyond
- Create compassionate, caring, and community-minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities
Application deadlines:
The Delta GEMS application deadline is Wednesday, September 30!
The following criteria will be used to determine eligibility:
- Reside in one of the following counties: Alamance, Caswell, Guilford (i.e., Gibsonville, McCleansville, Sedalia, Whitsett), or Rockingham
- Be a current high school student (grades 9-12)
- Have a minimum 2.0 GPA
