The mission of the National Arts and Letters Commission is to boldly advance the black experience, highlighting the artistic contributions of African American people of the past and present and elevating them to public attention.

The National Commission on Arts & Letters was established in 1973 under the presidency of 15th National President Lillian Pierce Benbow.  The Burlington Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Arts & Letters Committee is aligned with the National Commission of Arts & Letters. Our mission is to spark a love for the arts by creating programs that celebrate, elevate, and advance Black Arts. We are dedicated to cultivating culturally rich environments that beautifully reflects the Black experience and its invaluable contributions across various artistic mediums. We aim to foster a deeper appreciation and connection to the arts within our community.
